The Artist on the Bird: “I chose the Bald Eagle because they have such powerful, wise, and enigmatic heads. It’s also the symbol for America—my new adopted home—and represents freedom, strength, truth, and justice. When the Bald Eagle became the national symbol in 1782, there were 100,000 breeding pairs in the United States. That dipped to just 417 in 1963, thanks to hunting, deforestation, and DDT. Today, thanks to conservation efforts, there are 7,066 breeding pairs. Thankfully, this great bird lives on.” Watch a timelapse of this mural and Boy Kong's Tundra
